The DPDP Rules, 2025 were noti\u00adfied in Novem\u00adber 2025 with an 18-month phased com\u00adpli\u00adance time\u00adline. They require stand\u00adalone con\u00adsent notices that explain the spe\u00adcif\u00adic pur\u00adpose of col\u00adlec\u00adtion, per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2190014&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gov\u00adern\u00adment of India release of 14 Novem\u00adber 2025<\/a>. As of Octo\u00adber 2026 that win\u00addow is still run\u00adning, so build to the Rules now rather than lat\u00ader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For cap\u00adture involv\u00ading peo\u00adple in the EU, the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/eli\/reg\/2016\/679\/oj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gen\u00ader\u00adal Data Pro\u00adtec\u00adtion Reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion (EU) 2016\/679<\/a> requires a law\u00adful basis for pro\u00adcess\u00ading.
